Dwayne Casey: Looking for Work

Casey became the first NBA coaching fatality of the year, as his firing was announced earlier today. I'm actually a little surprised by this move for a number of reasons:
1) The TWolves aren't really doing that badly. Being over .500 in the West is like being the 2 or 3 seed in the East, and unlike last year, their division is no joke this year.
2) The TWolves are not really a better team (than they were last year) in terms of personnel. They brought in Mike James, who's a chump, and they drafted Randy Foye, who's been not quite setting the world on fire, and that's it. How good could they possibly have expected Casey to do in the Western Conference going into battle with Ricky Davis, Mike James, Troy Hudson, Marko Jaric, Mark Blount and Randy Foye behind KG? When you think about it, KG has way less to work with in Minnesota than AI had in Philly.
3) They have no strategy moving forward. It would be one thing if they were firing Casey and replacing him immediately with Paul Silas (a move, by the way, that they should be seriously considering) or some sort of strong leader with a direction. Instead they're replacing him with interim yes-man lackey chuck Randy Wittman.
I was relatively certain KG wouldn't move 'til the offseason, but now I'm eyeing the trade deadline with much interest.

Progs: More decline for the Wolves. KG will be traded by the deadline in February, you heard it here first!

When are you gonna give wrong rim Ricky his due? The Twolves traded Wally World to him for a reason. He can create his own shot, plays great defense, and is an athlete.. However, I do agree that Casey is not the problem. Kevin Mchale should have been fired years ago
