The Colts remind me a lot of those Rams squads that were so seemingly unbeatable. Ruthless offense, and a defense that could keep you in it with big plays. Except Peyton Manning is even better than Kurt Warner, and Harrison and Wayne are even more ruthlessly efficient than Holt and Bruce. The Colts pretty much handed Chicago a working by letting their defense come up with huge plays against Rex Grossman, who's a bonafide chump. Meanwhile, Peyton Manning was cutting up Chicago's formidable defenses with his laser rocket arm. Thomas Jones made a statement. Devin Hester made a hell of a statement. Here's my question: after the first interception by Grosssman in the fourth, still plenty of time left, why didn't Lovie Smith bring in Griese? Rex Grossman's a bum. Not only is he no good, he's not even the nephew of former Steelers TE Randy Grossman. He's just some other random Grossman of no pedigree. Now I'm no elitist, but this guy instills as much confidence as Kyle Boller, Joey Harrington, Tim Couch, Kyle Orton and Kordell Stewart all rolled into one. I feel sorry for Hester, Gould and Chicago's D, who did everything in their power to win. Loviee's a great coach and the Bears will be the cream of the NFC again next year. Maybe even better, when they unload Orton and Grossman. Let Griese work in a new rook.
